This is the second year I have been involved with FIRST. I really did not know what to expect the first year. We had a small group of students and several experienced mentors. The build season flew by and we shipped an incomplete robot. The first day at competition was hectic as the design team made changes to the final submission. When we were finally ready to go, it was an amazing experience. Our team beat the odds and won not one but two awards in our rookie year! The hard work paid off and I saw students experience success rarely found in typical high school classes.
