Last year's experience with Team 2449 addicted me to robotics and hands-on engineering. Getting to work with both students and industry engineers teaches me new skills and opens new insights every day. This will be my second year participating with FIRST robotics as a student-mentor. Last year, I helped to build our amazing transformable crate that doubled as a workbench. This year, I am working with the mechanical aspects of the robot -- specifically the ball shooting device.
I am currently an Arizona State University undergraduate majoring in Aerospace Engineering. In the vision to expand FIRST's ideal of "Gracious Proffesionalism", I have been working with several other FIRST alumni to build an underwater robotics team at ASU called Space Grant Robotics. I hope that in the not so distant future, many of the awesome students from Team 2449 as well as other FIRST teams get the opportunity to participate on this team and continue to expand FIRST's ideal.
